You are the solution!

Love them or not, we all can agree there are too many pit bulls in Cuyahoga County.  Our Slow the Flow program, in partnership with Friends of the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter, is here to address this issue by offering FREE pit bull spay/neuter for owned pit bull types of dogs in Cuyahoga County.

Our program is simple: If you live in Cuyahoga County and want your owned pit bull spayed or neutered, we’ll cover the surgery cost.

HOW IT WORKS!

  1. Click the Book Now button below.

  2. Fill out the form with all requested information.

  3. We’ll give you a call to discuss Vet options for surgery and you'll choose one.

  4. We'll send your information to the selected Vet.

  5. The Vet will contact you directly to book your appointment (typically 15-90 days out depending on the Vet) and a small refundable hold fee.

  6. You'll show up for the appointment (this part’s important!).

  7. The Vet will perform the surgery and bill us.

Some Kind Words

"This program is great. I called and they got back to me the next day. My Rocky goes this friday to have his procedure. It was so easy. Sent them a Pic, they saw he was pitty mix and scheduled his appointment. Not only does this slow the flow, it was a huge financial burden lifted from me."

"I again want to thank you for doing this for the people who do want to help their pets but can’t afford it. I truly do appreciate and hope one day I have the opportunity to pay it forward"

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer spay/neuter services for other pets?

Unfortunately, no. We are only focusing on the breed most frequently seen in shelters. However, there are affordable spay/neuter services in the area, e.g.  PetFix in Euclid and Garfield Heights, Great Life in Kent, AlterClinic in Canton, or Community Vet in Brookpark.

What is included in this service?

In general, we cover the cost of the surgery as well as a rabies vaccination (if needed).

Why is there a refundable hold fee?

All of our veterinary partners require a small $20–$30 hold fee to reserve your appointment slot. This fee is fully refundable on the day of surgery as long as you attend your scheduled visit. If you prefer, you can also apply the fee toward additional services during your appointment, such as vaccinations or nail trims.
